Exercise:

Studies have shown that regular physical activity can help relieve tension and anxiety. Physical activity can give you no less than a "second wind". Many thousands of reports and surveys state that after a couple weeks of regular physical activity, the energy level in the body doubles. People are still amazed.

According to the American Heart Association, the leading cause of death in America is Cardiovascular disease. CVD was responsible for 960,000 deaths in America last year, accounting for over 41.5% of all deaths.

The number TWO spot for deaths in all Americans: Colon Cancer.

Here is a brief summary of some of the things that regular exercise can begin doing for you right now:

(1) Exercise will improve the tone of your muscles and blood vessels, changing them from weak and flabby tissue to strong and firm tissue, often reducing blood pressure in the process.
(2) It will increase the efficiency of your heart in several ways. Gradually it will grow stronger and pump more blood with each stroke, thus reducing the number of strokes needed to supply your body with life-giving blood.
(3) It will improve your digestion by quickening the circulation and helping to lift the blood back to the heart from the digestive organs and thus normalizing your bowel action.
(4) It will increase the efficiency of your lungs, conditioning them to process more air with less effort.
(5) It will increase your maximum oxygen consumption by increasing the amount available and the efficiency of its delivery to body cells.
(6) It will improve the overall condition of your body, especially your most vital parts: the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and endocrine system. This will impart added protection against sickness.
(7) It can change your whole outlook on life, enabling you to relax, work more efficiently, and handle stress better. When not overdone, it imparts a cheerful quality to the mind.
(8) It will enable you to sleep better at night and think better during the day. Exercise strengthens the will. You will be able to get more work done with less fatigue.
(9) It will slow down your aging process—by slowing down the natural physical deterioration that old age normally brings. It will give you a new zest for life at a time when you most need it. And there is evidence that it can reduce the likelihood of cancer.

One of the early studies on the relationship of exercise to aging was done by Dr. Herbert de Vries. In one study of his, more than 200 men and women, ages 56 to 87 in a California retirement community, participated in a fitness program that included walking, a walk-jog routine, calisthenics, and stretching. After just six weeks, their blood pressure dropped, body fat decreased, maximum oxygen transport increased, and neuromuscular signs of nervous tension diminished. Analyzing the results, de Vries concluded:

"Men and women of 60 to 70 became as fit and energetic as those 20 to 30 years younger." And he added, "The ones who improved most were those who had been the least active and the most out-of-shape."

Exercise, consistently done with proper moderation as the years advance, can help prevent heart attacks as well as many other ailments.

The blood vessels are carefully lined with smooth muscle fibers and if these special muscles do not receive adequate exercise, they gradually atrophy. The only way you can exercise a blood vessel is to put demand on the blood stream to provide more oxygen. When you exercise, your muscular tissues use up oxygen more rapidly. Your heart has to beat faster to pump along a new supply of oxygen-carrying blood to meet this demand. As your heart increases its pumping action it pushes more blood through the system. The blood vessels expand and contract in order to meet this demand. And this exercises them. Without that exercise, they become flabby and begin to degenerate.

Aside from the physiological benefit that exercise has on the heart, arteries and veins, it also improves muscle tone—which will stand one in good stead in emergencies. Then there is the improvement in digestion that takes place. And have you had to deal with nervous tension? One of the best ways to counteract it is the physical fatigue from healthful exercise. And that benefit cannot be stressed too much.

The involuntary muscles of the body—for example those in the stomach and intestinal canal—are strengthened by the exercise of their fibers equally as much as are the voluntary or external muscles. At the same time, the muscular structures of the body, such as the heart and uterus are improved.

Difficult and painful menstruation is often relieved by a general program of physical exercise and a careful diet composed of natural foods.

Physical exercise helps children grow. The proper development of their bones, muscles, and other body organs are keyed to physical activity. For some strange reason, children seem to sense their need of physical exercise more than do their elders.

The nervous system is improved functionally by body movements of any kind.

Exercise provides a powerful increase of oxygen to the body. Ordinarily, a man inhales about 500 cubic inches of air every minute. By walking about four miles per hour, he draws in about 2,500 cubic inches per minute,—or five times more than that absorbed when sitting down.

Physicians are now prescribing exercise as part of the recovery program for speeding up the recovery of surgical and maternity patients; preventing phlebitis, clots, embolisms, kidney stones, and loss of calcium from the bones of bed patients. They require it for the restoration of physical and mental health in elderly invalids. It is given to help rehabilitate those who have has poliomyelitis, strokes, arthritis, accidental injury, and other neuralgic and orthopedic disorders. Researchers have learned that regular exercise tends to reduce blood pressure, increase the pumping efficiency of the heart, and improve oxygen utilization by all the tissues in the body.

What other reports have shown:

Regular activity may also reduce the risk of some kinds of embolic strokes.

Even moderate to low-intensity activity can bring benefits. When done for as little 30 minutes a day, activities such as pleasure walking, climbing stairs, gardening, yard work, moderate to heavy housework, dancing and home exercise have been shown to be beneficial. Again, doing anything is better than nothing.

More vigorous aerobic activities such as brisk walking, running, swimming, bicycling, roller-skating, and jumping rope -- done three to four times a week for 30-60 minutes --are best for improving the fitness of your heart and lungs.

Only 22% of American adults gets enough exercise to achieve cardiovascular fitness. 53% get some exercise, but not regularly or intensely enough to protect their hearts. 25% aren't active at all.

People middle-aged or older who are inactive and at high risk for heart disease or who already have a medical condition should seek medical advice before they start or significantly increase their physical activity. Most apparently healthy people of any age can safely engage in moderate levels of physical activity (e.g. moderate walking, gardening, yard work) without prior medical consultation.

If you are inactive, doing anything is better than nothing! Studies show that people who have a low fitness level are much more likely to die early than people who have achieved even a moderate level of fitness. If you want to exceed a moderate level of fitness, you need to exercise three or four times a week for 30 to 60 minutes at 50-80 percent of your maximum capacity.

The potential health benefits of exercise greatly outweigh the risk of doing nothing, although there is a very slight increased risk of death due to heart attack during vigorous exercise. Consult your doctor first if you have any concerns, have been sedentary, are overweight, are middle-aged or older or have a medical condition.

Doing moderate-level activities often will help lower your health risks. If you want to attain a high level of cardiovascular fitness, you need to gradually work up to exercising at least three or four times a week for 30-60 minutes at 50-80 percent of your maximum capacity.

Studies show that being physically fit lowers heart disease risk even in people who have other health problems such as high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol. To minimize risk, however, you should be physically fit and avoid the other major modifiable risk factors: cigarette smoke, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol.

Seniors

More and more seniors are proving every day that they are not too old to exercise. In fact, the older you are, the more you need regular exercise. However, there are some special precautions you should take. If you have a family history of heart disease, check with your doctor first. Don't try to do too much too fast. Exercise at an intensity appropriate for you. Pick activities that are fun, that suit your needs and that you can do year-round. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Choose a well-lighted, safe place with a smooth, soft surface. Take more time to warm up and cool down before and after your workout. Stretch slowly. Don't rely on your sense of thirst; drink water on a fixed schedule.

Children

If you have children and you are concerned about their fitness level, set a good example by practicing good heart healthy habits yourself. Limit sedentary activities such as television, movies, videos and computer games to no more than two hours a day. Plan active family outings and vacations. Assign household chores (mowing lawns, raking leaves, scrubbing floors, etc.) that require physical exertion. I'm always amazed at how many kids these days never have any chores.  Parents a doing a great disservice to them, especially the males, in training them that "other women" can do the work for them! Observe what sports and activities appeal to your children, then encourage their development with lessons or by joining teams. If it is safe to walk or bike rather than drive, do so. Use stairs instead of elevators and escalators. Make sure that your children's physical activities at school or in daycare are adequate. When your children are bored, suggest something that gets them moving -- play catch or build a snowman!

Personal Story

My personal fitness level increased dramatically after I was rid of a severe infection I had developed due to poor diet, up and down stress levels, and lack of exercise. (See
Diet: A four letter word below). I found what works for "me" was to start out slowly with lots of stretching and deep breathing.  I then began a very mild routine of free dancing to my favorite music.  Since dancing was a major part of my life when I was younger, it felt good to be able to bring back some of the old muscles. I remembered the old saying that: "Muscles Have Memory".  It also helps me clear my mind of stress and worry.  I let my mind go and fantasize as I do my own expressive movements. I find this much more enjoyable to just jogging or walking. Others live for these two activities.  I used to envy them as I saw them boldly go anywhere they wanted in the great outdoors, running their little hearts out. The few times I've tried it, I not only get extremely bored very fast with it, but I don't feel secure in displaying myself in public.  That's ok. Everyone is different. I receive great fulfillment by my dancing at night or on the weekends. I just have to work a little harder to move furniture to give my self some room. I also enjoy lifting free weights.  No matter how much I love to dance, there is something about the "rush" you receive by a few good sets of weight lifting. I had to start slow at first years ago, off and on. And I really don't want to "build muscle mass" as much as I want long lean muscles. So it's advised to always do more reps with smaller weights for that result.  The guys want to put on the mass by pumping heavier weights fewer times in each set.

On an average I do several reps now with 40 lbs. I can lift a lot more. But then I would be defeating the purpose. I am already a large thick frame. It's genetic. But the MOST important thing about "resistance training" is that it is the "single" most effective way to build and maintain bone mass, and lower blood pressure and cholesterol. That is especially important for ageing women. I keep telling my beautiful 74 year young mother that it's never too late to start lifting. I got her some very light 2 and 5 lb. small dumbbells. I told her that this alone, done just a few minutes a day, will increase her circulation, protect her bone mass, (since osteoporosis is so prevalent in most older women), and even help her oxygen increase to her brain, keeping her alert and cute.

She is my beautiful model on the "Sensual Seniors" page. She has never looked her age. And I believe it's all because she has led an incredible healthful lifestyle. Even though later she tended to pick up some of the bad eating habits that my dad had us all live by (See diet: below), she was still very careful about how much sugar, fat & meats, and even what kinds of meats, she put into her body. She has never smoked in her life, and has only 'tasted' wine on a very rare occasion, (at my prompting). Her positive attitude I believe has also aided in her longevity and beauty. She tries to be carefree in this bottled up world, and her faith in God has been her foundation for living. With all of these elements, she to me has been one of the greatest representations of the Total Woman.

          Water:The Best Medicine

When we come to the individual need for water, it is readily realized that water is certainly our most precious mineral. It is the most essential of all minerals for our bodies. An animal can lose all its fat, about half its protein,—but if it loses as much as one-tenth of its water, it will die."—Jonathan Forman, M.D., in "Water and Man."

Your body is 60% water. The countless millions of cells inside of you are constantly being bathed in water. And this is not merely a soaking process, but a rewashing activity done by your blood stream. Water in the blood brings nutrition and oxygen to your tissues, and carries off wastes. If injury occurs, coagulants come out of the fluid and stop the bleeding, while white blood cells emerge from the blood stream and begin attacking poisonous substances. Delicate chemical balances are maintained by the flowing blood, as hormones, digestive substances, and many other vital substances are transported through the body fluids to their appointed place.

Water is Extremely Vital to Your Life, Inside and Out:

Frequent bathing is a very important health practice. Warm baths relax.

The term:  hydrotherapy works because of its direct and indirect effects on the nervous system. Water-cure establishments, or "hydros," sprang up all over Germany and Europe, later spreading to the United States. In the late 1800s, Dr. J. Winternitz, of Vienna, discovered that the temperature of the water, the percussion of the water, and the body part receiving it determined how it would help the body. Hot baths prepare for cold ones and strengthen and invigorate; all baths help cleanse the skin. There are millions of tiny pores—little mouths—that open out onto your skin. Bathing cleans them and removes the impurities that they bring to the surface.

Doctors have recommended for years that if most of their patients would just drink more water, most of their health problems would disappear.

Forcing the body to work with insufficient amounts of fluid is like trying to wash the dinner dishes in a cupful of water. When you don't drink enough water, the body must excrete wastes in a more concentrated form, causing body odor, bad breath, and unpleasant smelling urine. If wastes from the body aren't eliminated as rapidly as they should be then there is no way that we can feel as good and energetic as we should. Water gives your body the internal shower that it needs each day. The body loses about 10-12 cups of water through the skin, lungs, and elimination. Food provides two to four cups of water, leaving us six to eight glasses of water to drink. Get into the habit of drinking water in the morning when you first wake up, midmorning, mid-afternoon, and early evening. Add a twist of lemon for a little flavor.

Air:

Without air, man dies. Air is the most vital element for man and animals. One may live for weeks without food, or for days without water, but deprived of air he will perish within minutes.

Millions of people suffer from a wide variety of ailments that are partly caused by an insufficient supply of oxygen. The problem is that most people do not breathe correctly, and this continually weakens their health, their happiness, and their hold on life itself. Every cell of your body must receive a constant supply of oxygen—or they will weaken and die. But that air must be fresh in order to help you the most. When you breathe stale or polluted air, the supply of oxygen is insufficient to keep the cells strong and healthy. Apart from oxygen from the air you breathe, they die within a few minutes. Actually, this is also a good way to start the morning. When you first awake, take several deep breaths, and then as you arise take several more. Before breakfast, go outside and look on the things of nature and breathe deeply as you silently thank God for another day of life. From time to time, throughout the day, repeat this deep breathing practice. At times, take in very deep breaths of air, in order to expand your lungs. A method you could use is to exhale strongly and then allow the fresh new air to enter the lungs in whatever amount and rate the body wishes to take it in; then exhale again, and let more in. Develop a habit of deep breathing. Shallow breathing is a habit easily developed but harmful in its effects on the entire body. Many people only breathe "at the top of their lungs."  Take full, deep inspirations of air. Don't just fill the top of your chest.

You should also know it is very important that we keep our houses properly ventilated. It is the fresh, purifying air inside a home that makes it a healthier place for you. It is of the utmost importance that every room in the house be open to the sunlight and a current of air throughout the day. Deep breathing reduces pain and relaxes the entire system.

Breathe For Life

Breathing is not done just with our lungs. Every cell in our body must breathe to stay alive. Breathing starts with our lungs but extends to all parts of the body by means of our red blood cells.

Improper breathing results in less oxygen in the lungs and less energy-filled oxygen for transport to the body cells. You will notice with most adults that they have very little movement in the abdominal area while breathing. The chest goes up and down instead. Most adults have forgotten or restricted the normal breathing pattern which they had normally at birth.

How we breathe makes a lot of difference to the quality of life and our zest for living. Shallow and restricted breathing leads to fatigue, exhaustion, anemia, and depression. If you have any of these symptoms, or even if you don't, try breathing using your abdominal muscles more.

Failure to breathe properly robs us in every area of life--memory, creativity, concentration. It also dulls such fine points of mental activity as will power, discernment, and judgment. It also can affect our feelings such as pain, anger, and low self-esteem.

Purposely breathe with your abdominal muscles protruding with each inspiration and retracting on exhaling. Take your breaths using your nose and not your mouth. This is important because the nasal membranes warm, filter, and add moisture to the inspired air.

Practice breathing this way until it becomes a habit. It will take concentration, diligence, and perseverance to reverse the patterns established over many years. But the reward is worth the effort.

Most trained singers  have learned this breathing technique from the very beginning.  It aids them in controlling their breath for long extended periods, helping each note to carry on when necessary.

If you live in a more rural setting or the country take advantage of the fresh air. Open the windows and let the outside in. Even in the winter there should be some ventilation. It is better to have cool air with oxygen than warm air that stifles.

Bedroom ventilation is most important. During most of the year its windows should be partially open at night. During the winter, you could have indirect ventilation by opening a window in an adjacent room, such as a bathroom, to avoid a direct draft. This is especially important if you use central heating. Proper ventilation through the house will aid in decreasing chances of carbon monoxide poisoning. I personally do not use the heater at night. I just use more blankets.

Best of all, get outside and take a vigorous walk, work on a garden, or do some other useful exercise fit for just you where you can receive fresh air.

Sunlight:                                    __________

Every living thing in our world is dependent upon the sun. Without sunshine, nothing could live. Sunlight is composed of energy wavelengths of various types. In 1877, two researchers, Downes and Blunt, discovered that sunlight can destroy harmful bacteria. Today, it is used to treat bacterial infections. Sunlight on the body dramatically lowers high blood pressure, decreases blood cholesterol, lowers excessively high blood sugars, and increases white blood cells.

Adequate sunlight on your body will lower your respiratory rate, and will cause your breathing to be slower, deeper, and even easier. Your resting heart rate will decrease, and after exercise it will return to normal much more quickly. Sunlight increases the capacity of the blood to carry more oxygen and take it to your body tissues. Even a single exposure to the ultraviolet light in sunlight will greatly increase the oxygen content of your blood. And this effect will continue for several days. Doctors discovered that Bronchial asthma patients who could hardly breathe, were able to inhale freely after a 'sunbath'.

It has also been discovered that by opening up your house (like the curtains, and windows), to the sunlight, it can destroy certain bacteria that can build up in your house, causing various problems from allergies to viruses.

It is of interest that many of these beneficial effects of sunlight are heightened if a person combines sunbathing with a regular program of physical exercise. For example, fatigue and exhaustion tend to be lessened and the capacity for work is increased. It is now known that part of this is due to an increase in glycogen content of the blood and muscles following sunlight and exercise. The strength of the heart is steadied and deepened. The pulse rate is lowered because the heart muscle is pumping more blood at each beat. This enables your heart to rest more between beats. And yet the blood output is increased by an average of 39% for several days after a sunbath. Many people worry about their blood pressure, yet regularly taking sunlight on the body lowers it. Sunbaths alone will lower blood pressure by an average of 8%; combined with exercise, it is lowered 15%. It has been discovered that exposure to sunshine has an insulin-like effect on the body—it lowers the blood sugar. And then there is stress. We all encounter tensions and problems throughout the day. Sunlight can help you more easily glide through the day. A deepened sense of well-being results, and better sleep comes at night. You feel better and live better. Because you are more relaxed, the crises of life are met with less difficulty. Sunlight on the body both calms the nerves and increases adrenalin. This relaxation is not merely mental; it is physical also. Both gastric and duodenal ulcer patients have been found to improve under the beneficial effects of sunshine.

With the recommended sun blockers for UV applied, if you are planning on staying out longer than 5-10 minutes, the benefits of sun far out weigh the damages it can cause.  With the proper knowledge and "sun-sense", your entire psyche and well being can be up lifted weekly.  You will be able to face the ever new challenges in your week.

Diet: A "Four" Letter Word!

The American diet has changed dramatically in the past one hundred years. We have gone from potatoes to potato chips, from fresh produce to packaged foods, from pure water to soda pop, sugared fruit drinks and beer. This has affected our health in so many ways because it has decreased the fiber content of our food.

Decreased fiber in the diet is one of the key factors in all degenerative diseases as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, bowel cancer and other cancers. Refined foods, artificial non-foods and animal products have replaced the once-common fruits, cereals, whole grain breads, dried peas and beans and vegetables.

Why the change? Fiber-filled foods "slow us down" because they take longer to chew and we live in such a fast-pace, grab-it, eat-it-quick type of environment now that if it doesn't slide down in a hurry followed by a guzzling soda, or come ready prepared we don't want it.

The average "American diet" has been reduced down to nothing more than grease, with salt and sugar added to more grease.  Colon cancer is ranked among the highest of all cancer diseases among Americans than any other country.

Have you ever taken out a roast from the fridge the next day to find the "tallow" (or whit fat) had risen to the top and turned into a "chap-stick" like substance? Sometimes it would be from 1 to 3 inches thick, depending on the cut of meat. Think about it. Did you ever think that the night before you had taken in quite a bit of that "chap stick" into your stomach and veins, while it was hot and melted, and succulent? I did, every time I tried to reheat the stuff. I would find myself scraping out as much of that hideous stuff as I could, while it was still cold and I could grab it, just to find that weird jelly-looking brown au'jus formed at the bottom.  Some people think it's ok to eat that. It's all the "juices" that are needed to enhance the meat.  But I believe It's just more of the chap stick, just broken down into a finer gruel.

Check yourself out on these questions. Do you have lots of indigestion, heartburn, gas? Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Do you take time to chew your food? Are you eating until you burst? Are you eating between meals, not just junk-food but good stuff too?  Are you over-weight? Are you constipated? Do you know the proper elimination process for the average human? Between 1-2 bowel movements a day is considered very healthy. How about pain? Any lower abdominal pain? Especially after you eat a great Fried Chicken Dinner?  (Like KFC?)

Personal Story

Towards the end of my father's life he mentioned (casually) that he was only "going" once a week, if he was lucky.

He was from the era of "meat and potatoes", and not forgetting to heap the gravy!  He did however love a well prepared vegetable, and the "creamier the better". The more "condiments" he had to slather on his food around him the happier he was. He was a happy eater! I must tell you. And everyone loved my dad "Mac".  Only, dear Mac lived so hearty and good that he took away the one thing we all wanted from him the most, his life. At a very young 52, full of life and craziness, he left us with heart disease, high blood pressure, and extreme high cholesterol.  Yes we used to play games by hiding his cigarettes, or slip in a vege-burger into his well mayonnaised bun, but he was keen to our antics as a family when I was young, and would make such a scene and have such a fit about "his food" or his smokes that we could only watch him wallow and enjoy all of his bad habits. Though I thought he was being selfish by not taking care of himself for his future grandchildren who would be eternally blessed for knowing him, I did realize that this was what made him the happiest. Food was his passion, and his downfall.

Ultimately, his habits became "ours".  The mold never breaks in each life cycle until you identify that it needs to be broken, and do it! Two summers ago I found myself in extreme violent pain in my lower left abdomen.  If I didn't know better, I'd have thought I was giving birth! All I could do was fold up in the fetal position and scream. My husband was in such a panic in the middle of the night he wanted to rush me to the hospital. Stupid me, I knew it couldn't be appendix (that was already out), and I know it wasn't a period, I took care of that little pain in the butt too. But I forgot that I had previously had some problems eliminating for the past several months.  I just took it for granted that it was part of getting older, like my dad.  So I took a bunch of Tylenol, then aspirin.  And said I was going to see this through since I HATED going to the emergency room.  I mean, they just make you wait for hours anyway, I would rather do it in my own home! ( I know, it was stupid).

So I made an appointment the next day with the doc.  Long story short, they thought it might be ovarian, or another "female" problem.  So I went through a battery of tests and probes, only to find that all was well. Now they were stumped too.  I mentioned that I had not been "going" very much, and could that have something to do with it?  That sounded the alarm off (finally), and they scheduled me for the MOST humiliating, and intrusive probing devices I had ever seen.  But before I could get in for these tests, I began to search on the web all the info I could get on my problem and what I could have. Well, that was another mistake.  For it's never good to try to self-diagnose. For when I went to the "cancer" info, I found that I had about 8 of the 10 symptoms for cancer of the colon. I nearly fell off my chair.  I was shaking to death. So I went in to the hospital for the tests totally expecting the worst.

The first test was called a signoidoscopy. A neat little black hose they slide up your backside, while on your side, and pump air inside to open the colon as they look in.  The worse part was the "prep" I had to do the night before. I had to drink this "horrible" stuff that forces you to completely eliminate several HUNDRED times that night.  And in between you are to take enemas. You never sleep, unless you do on the pot. The 'pain'  I experienced from the drink mixture alone I cannot describe to you.  I thought I had been poisoned! Again, I was in the fetal position on  my side on the couch, while my husband was frantically calling nurses on call at the place that prescribed this toxic formula.  They said I must have extreme sensitivity due to all the pain I had before, and I maybe should have had a milder formula! (Too late!)

But it was over by the middle of the night. And the next day, I was declared the "cleanest" they had ever seen! As pink as a baby! (Whatever.) But my colon was in such distress that the doc could hardly push the scope in.  He called it spasms. He was amazed, and had to call the nurse in to take a look. 'Great! All I needed now was a news crew!' (Spasm Ass, Film at Eleven).

He could go no further, gave up, and said I needed to get into the x-ray area for the "other" test. Yes, the milk test. No, not REAL milk.  Just your every day radio-active milky fluid they pump into your entire intestine while looking at your innards on "TV". Yea! My big break. And if you have never heard of this little test...you are in for some "fun".

As I walked into x-ray, I noticed this clear bag hanging on a hook about the size of a trash bag.  And there was "the MILK". I almost ran out telling myself I'll be damned if I let them pump all that in me! The tech must have seen the look on my face and assured me that he would not be putting all that inside me! It still didn't help the shear panic I was feeling inside. But believe it or not, as it was happening, it was very calming and quiet, and very interesting. I could see my entire torso on TV, from intestine to lungs. It was kind of a surreal feeling of jumping outside your body and looking in. As he released the fluid in very small spurts, I didn't feel a thing, but saw the milky trail making it's way around all the passages inside. I was entranced.  He would then kind of bounce his fingers on certain areas of my abdomen, causing the intestine to move and wiggle when he wanted it to. It was like looking at the Discovery Channel, at someone else! I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Then he circled the very fragile and shredded looking little part of my upper intestine and took a still picture of it from the live scene we were looking at. He took several. That bothered me. Then he let me go, after telling me to go to the rest room first. He didn't have to ask twice! He told me someone would be calling me in an hour or two, but to go home, rest, and drink "gallons" of water! Bottled Water   Wow. Gallons of water. What a concept. I thought I always did drink water until I found out I was actually dehydrating myself everyday at work. The two or three cups of coffee in the a.m. weren't doing it.  By doing so, I was causing the toxins in my intestine and colon to build up for years. And that was the main reason I was not eliminating as well. Well, one reason anyway. The other main reason I later found was my stress level. For stress is a very weird animal. It can do more damage to your body than just about anything else on the planet.

Back at home I hardly got in the door when the doctor called me with the results.  I was shocked they were so fast. They said that it was GOOD news and BAD news.  The good news was I did NOT have cancer. (By then I was shaking like a leaf).  The bad news was I had developed a disease for LIFE called Diverticulosis. A sever infection of the colon had developed from it called Diverticulitis. In human terms, it basically means that due to the years of fast food, fats, meats, sodas, caffeine, and sugar, I had pretty much weakened and broken down the delicate tissues of my colon which is needed to process the food I eat.  When the process is slowed down, or can't be done, the food just sits there and cannot digest. It gets hung up. Sometimes forming little "pockets" in the weaker walls of the colon that have broken down. Then all it can do is fester and get infected. Add to that the lack of sufficient water, to aid in the cleaning process, and you turn into ME. It was all compounded by what they termed as "Irritable Bowel Syndrome". Due to bad diet and extreme stress. I really didn't think I had more stress than the average idiot, so I was very confused. But what I learned was that everyone is different. Inside and out. I learned from my mother that I was a colicky baby, meaning I would cry all night from gas and upset stomach. In my school years I remember being very nervous and extremely insecure. I bit my nails till they bled and held my hands folded in front of my stomach almost my entire childhood into my teen years. So even then, it was starting. The nervous breakdown of delicate tissues and adding a bad diet to it all.

From this phone call, and several trips to the doc again, I learned what my diet was to consist of.  Nothing more than "bark and twigs", with water chasers! I was so thrilled the big "C" was not there, but was amazed at the "sentence" that was handed me for my crimes to my body, and that I was given for the rest of my life. And I thought I had been doing WAY better than my father's diet! I had switched to fish and chicken years ago with only red meat occasionally on the weekends.  And I was into "light" or "no-fat" everything... from mayonnaise to milk. I constantly ate salads, and tried to limit my soda and coffee intake to just one or two a day.

But my "sentence" was a lot tougher than I had put myself on! I was to cut out ALL sodas, since the "carbonation" itself was very damaging to the delicate linings of your intestine, and aids in the breakdown. And ALL coffee! (OH MAN! That was too much!) The oils and caffeine in coffee are enough to irritate and clog your colon and irritate it, not to mention the "stress"  I was putting myself under due to the caffeine to the nervous system.  I also was to TRY to eliminate all fats, including MEAT. Since meat has the highest content of fat, even at it's leanest, it was a big no-no. I was only to eat the most fibrous of foods (they gave me a list), and even add those 'fiber powders' to my orange juice in the morning. (I hated them). And force myself to drink only the purest filtered water by the gallons.

But, in reality, they knew I was human like all others, and would have to do this slowly, like weaning a baby off his mother's tit. But instead, it happened to be in the summer, and I am a 'summer fruit' freak! Especially watermelon. I literally lived on nearly a whole watermelon a day for just about the whole summer. I dropped 50 pounds, and never felt better in my life. Of course, I don't recommend this diet to anyone... because you see I was very sick. It took nearly 2 months to even feel human and have strength again.  It took that long as well to rid my poor body of that horrible infection with antibiotics.  Who knows how long it had been building? By September, I was swimming and playing with my family members who would come and visit me to give me encouragement. And though I would put on huge BBQ's for them, I was very careful what I ate. I would nibble on a piece of chicken without the skin and have my half  watermelon. (sure beats drinking water endlessly).

Two years later, I am doing o.k.  I could be doing better. But old habits are hard to kick. But even writing this for you, has helped me to remember all the pain and needless tests I went through if I had only done the things I should be doing! I NEVER want to repeat that nightmare again.

And the ONLY reason I shared this with you is so you do not have to go through this either! It won't be easy, but is anything easy that is worth saving! Kind of like a relationship! Right? Call it a relationship with "yourself" ! Another hard part will be getting your children to eat better if they are already in the "habit" of grease and sugar and sodium. Grease and fats are "comfort foods". They all tend to make us feel better for the "moment". But there is hell to pay later! Trust me! Sugars, sodium and caffeine are addictive. You can expect withdrawals in your body once you try to taper off some of it. I still cringe and go mad when I see an "uninformed" parent let a small child drink any caffeinated drink! From 'colas' to 'peppers' to 'dews''!! They have NO CLUE what they are doing to that little tiny, developing nervous system! And they wonder where all the "hyper children" are coming from! Go figure!

A high-fiber low-fat diet has been successful in treating and controlling diabetes in patients requiring less than 20 units of insulin. Obesity is basically a result of not eating sufficient fiber. Increase the fiber in your diet, and eat your foods as simply prepared and as close to the natural state as possible and you will get all the abundance of fiber that you need. Why not restore fiber to your diet naturally and enjoy the health that comes with it!

Positive Aura:

We live in a world of rapid change, and sometimes things seem to pile upon us at such a rapid rate that it's just too hard to take. We end up snapping at our loved ones, forgetting important deadlines, or birthdays, even forgetting to eat or overeat.

Stress

Stress is known to be a major contributor to heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, colon diseases accidental injuries, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide. Whole corporate companies have taken on the task of incorporating classes in stress management for their employees, in order to cut back the level of missed days from work.  Some have even added entire gyms and daycare centers just to make their employees' lives a little bit easier. A smart CEO will know how to take care of his or her people. My logo has always been:  "Happy people make happy work".  It sounds real schmaltzy, but it really works. And it's like a ripple affect.  When you have one or two positive people in the mix, their infectious attitudes spread to others like candy. And they don't even have to be the proverbial 'A-types' we've all read about 10 or 15 years ago. Some of the A-types can be the "worse" people to work with!

The key is to relax!

Find time to relax every day--We need time to let the work or school problems go. Sometimes just a "day of doing nothing" can be more productive than trying to get all those nasty little weekend chores done that you can never keep up with anyway! Call it a "re-charging of your batteries."  Try something different you haven't done for a while! Even if it's outside of your 'regular' workout routine. Assuming you have one. A walk outside, a change in activity, a casual walk around the mall, (without shopping!), a "trip" somewhere, if only for a couple hours. Get away from the usual bustle that keeps you tied up in knots. You are worth it!

Educate yourself to be adaptable--Realize that plans change and allow your mind to be open to the changes that will come. Stress depends not only upon what happens to an individual, but upon the way we react to the situation. Develop good health habits--In dealing with stress, make a determined effort to have a regular time for sleeping and rising. If you don't get adequate sleep, you lower your immune system and your body's ability to handle stress. Adequate rest will increase your will power to do what you need to do health-wise, and the determination to stay free from harmful substances. Start with the determination that you will begin the journey to eat and drink better.  (See Diet and Water above). Get outside and become as physically active as much as you can. Fresh air soothes the mind and nerves.  Spend a safe 5 - 10 minutes sunbathing.  (See Sunlight above). You are not trying to bake or tan as much as you are trying to receive the warmth and vitamins throughout your soul.  Use this time to meditate and breathe properly. (See Air above). Consider your body the most precious vessel you have.  Some choose to use biblical terms and call it their "temple".  Some call it their "spirit".  Realize that whatever you do to your mind and body today good or bad, will ultimately affect the way you live tomorrow. Others have said "you are what you eat".  But you can apply this thought to all applications in these elements of mind and health.

Tips to Positiveness

Call for Divine Assistance--Acknowledge that we cannot cope with everything and call out to God for help. "Calling" may also include an understanding friend. Break up stressors--Make a list of all the tasks that need to be done. Select your priorities from that list. Ask yourself these three questions.  1. Does this task "have" to be done?  2. Do "I"  have to do it?  3. Does it have to be done "now"?  I am not encouraging procrastination, just a smart way of prioritizing, and relieving your mind of fretting. Fretting will destroy you... as well as make your hair fall out especially if you're a guy!

Awareness--Know the warning signs; anxiety, chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, extreme appetite changes, increased chemical dependence (alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, pain relievers, other drugs,) inability to concentrate, extreme restlessness, "I don't care" attitude. Many times when we are under too much strain or stress, our homes, lives, families and possessions become dirty or neglected.

Everyone experiences stress  By "recognizing" when our stress is turning into distress, we are well on the way to handling the problem. And then beginning to feel free of burdens and weights on your shoulders. You then will have a more positive outlook on most of life. Yes... the idiots on the road going to work will "still" be there in the morning...and your boss or kids will continually "try" to drive you over the edge, but guess what? You have somehow managed to figure out HOW to identify, and then release the "fretting" or the shear panic or anger that usually causes your WORST day.

Personal Story

One of the MOST remarkable reports I've seen on TV was a physician talking about how he has helped thousands of people with their body ailments like chronic back aches, neck aches, etc.  Aside from the people who have a real medical problem due to damaged backs and necks, or disintegrating disks, he would conduct seminars for FREE to anyone who would listen about how to manage and eliminate their pain all with their minds.  I almost turned the channel as I am very skeptical of anyone trying to mess with my mind.  But as I watched, I realized that it was simply through acknowledging, confessing and releasing that these people were "able" to control their pain.

They only had to "acknowledge" first that they had definite pain that day more so than usual.  Then they were to sit somewhere quietly and "confess" to themselves the thing that they felt that had set off their "stress" for that day.  Maybe unusual pressure from work, a project that had a tight timeline. A fight with a spouse or friend.  Money! Or the lack thereof. Your kids driving you completely out of your mind that day.  Whatever the case, the first step is to recognize and pinpoint that actual event that has caused you the biggest stress that day.  By "releasing", you only say to your self, "I know where this "back pain" is coming from, I know the cause of it, and as I release it, I realize that as I calm down, breath deeply and relax, it will soon go away."

I can't tell you how many TIMES this has actually worked for me!  I have learned that in my stressful life, all I need is a couple more factors to set off my lower back snapping and going out on me instantly.  It's happened since my early 20's. I've had to be literally carried to chiropractors in order to walk upright or walk at all!

The few times it has gone "out" on me again recently, I tried this little experiment on myself, and mind you that it was with extreme doubt that I proceeded!  It happened to be in the middle of the night after a run to the restroom, and I could feel my back "slipping" as soon as I leaned over the sink.  I quickly stood straight and was very disgusted that it was happening (again)! So I carefully wobbled to the edge of the bed in the dark, said to myself, "OK! Here I go! I'll try this stupid thing this one time."  I sat there and breathed deeply and slowly, sitting straight up, and trying to relax my whole body.  I told my self that I know where this pain is, I knew where the stress was coming from since I had an extremely bad day, and I released it knowing that the pain would soon go away if I just relaxed and let it all go.

I gently laid back down, tried to sleep and as I was dozing off, I could feel the muscles relaxing all over. My brain was feeling peace and warmth. I felt "secure" as well, which I can't really explain. And by morning, it was like I had an entire new back!  I was in so much SHOCK all I could do was tell the first person I saw, my husband, then my boss!  I still find it hard to believe.  But two years later, it still works.  When I find out this physician's name, or if anyone out there knows, I will let you all know.  But it all boiled down to basically mind over matter.

Other Sources of Relaxation

One of the greatest modern ways to tackle those stress related problems is to indulge in the ancient ways of "healing". Hands have been, and are still one the most effective tools anyone can experience still in this state-of-the-art world. The human touch can still beat any electronic device, any water works, even the most fantastic vacation you could imagine. (See Touch). There are many new/but old ways of touching too. Some choose to call it "Alternative or Holistic Medicine". But since it's been around probably before medicine, I would call it Real Medicine.

There are places that will do the traditional Shiatsu Massage that is light in pressure along the body, (like acupuncture without the needles), in order to free blockages and balance the body's natural energy flow. There are new places springing up that practice a treatment called "Reiki", by laying on of the hands throughout the body which supposedly channels the unlimited supply of energy which practitioners believe exists in the universe. There is also a Cranio-Sacral Therapy, which involves light touches around the head and neck. This promoting smooth movement of the fluid that brings nutrients to the brain and spinal cord, thus canceling out the negative effects of trauma and stress, also boosting immunity. Corporate 10 minute neck and shoulder messages are now being incorporated in the workforce at a rapid level. Employers know that when they have a stressed out worker, they produce less. Sometimes they pay for a round of messages to the pool of workers, sometimes they just allow a technician to come in on one of your breaks. But it would be well worth your dollars however it's arranged.

The best place to find a good technician, is through word of mouth. And be sure the "healer" has been practicing for at least 2 years.

 The Positive YOU

"You are the child who danced in the sunshine, the young person who dreamed of changing the world. You are the admirer of all the beauty around you, a spirit who cannot be tied down. You are the best that you can imagine, a bundle of possibilities yearning to be fulfilled.

The shallow, superficial things will define or limit you only to the extent that you let them. Pay attention to them, but don't give your life to them. You are so much more."

Sex Drive:

If we want our sex life to stay alive, we have to work for it the same way we do our health and happiness. Accepting  the aging process with a positive attitude can only increase your peace of mind and your libido.  Another thing to remember is this, statistically speaking, you are much more confident and blessed with your self-awareness than the average twenty something female.  Sexual arousal for both men and women may take longer as we age. But from all reports, once you are there, you are reporting that it has become much more satisfying than in your early years.  To keep the juices flowing, spend more time caressing each other with your hands. Experiment with touch, (see Recipes for Lovemaking), kissing, and talk. Lubricants, vibrators and oil massages are nice ways to add spice to a slow week for the both of you.  Don't be afraid to tease, arouse, and seduce each other all day long, either by phone, e-mail,  love notes, or if you are lucky enough to be home together once in a while, not just before intercourse. If you "act" like a sexual being, you will "be" sexual all your life. Remember that "Sensuality is a state of Mind".  It's a thought pattern that needs to be nurtured and practiced.

Some Medical Thoughts on Sex Drive

Some women are highly sensitive with PMS.  This can affect all aspects of our lives including sex drive:

"The most common PMS complaints are weight gain, bloating, irritability, depression, loss of sex drive, fatigue, breast swelling or tenderness, cravings for sweets and headaches.

"Scientists also identified a chronic condition similar to PMS which they called, "pre-menopause syndrome." They identified two primary causes: (1) anovulatory cycles; and (2) adrenal gland exhaustion. In an anovulatory cycle, a woman does not ovulate, and there is no corpus luteum. With no corpus luteum, there is no progesterone secretion. Therefore, women with anovulatory cycles are truly progesterone deficient prior to menopause. Adrenal gland exhaustion from undue stress may also create a progesterone deficiency. As a result of anovulatory cycles and adrenal gland burnout, the problems of estrogen dominance occur early in life in the form of pre-menopause syndrome.

"Most women suffer from a syndrome known as Estrogen Dominance," according to Dr. John Lee, who has pioneered research in this area. Estrogen unopposed by progesterone results in a number of adverse effects. These include hypertension, salt and water retention, abnormal blood clotting, excessive body fat, hypothyroidism, painful breasts, fibrocystic breast disease, increased risk of endometrial cancer (cancer of the uterus) and breast cancer.

"Estrogen dominance occurs at the age of menopause, when progesterone production falls to approximately 1% of its pre-menopausal level. At this time, the production of estrogen falls to about 50% of its premenopausal levels. This dramatically alters the estrogen:progesterone ratio, causing estrogen to become toxic without progesterone to oppose it. As a result, the risks of breast and uterine cancer, fibrocystic breast disease, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, cervical erosions and/or dysplasia, and osteoporosis increase.

"Progesterone alleviates and prevents both premenstrual and pre-menopause syndromes. Progesterone secretion in women is highest during the two weeks before menstruation. With insufficient progesterone to block the toxic effects of estrogen, PMS is the result. Raising the level of progesterone by supplementation often provides dramatic relief from PMS."

ALSO:

According to a recent study by the University of Chicago which reported their findings in the  Journal of the American Medical Association, over 43 percent of women have some form of sexual dysfunction. That's quite a large number. They are saying almost half of us, or 1 out of 2 have some problems. Only recently have these studies been clinically researched, since the big Viagra rush took place about a year ago. Doctors and chemical companies found it was easier to treat an erection than it was female arousal. But now that they found women have been "rushing" in for the same treatments, it woke up the professionals (finally!), and now we are beginning to have a voice!

The side affects however of taking Viagra were not at a minimum. Women found that they were experiencing terrific headaches (as with some men), and blurred vision.

Topical creams, which are applied to the female genitalia, are being looked at now to enhance arousal and desire. One contains a ground up version of the active ingredient in Viagra (sildenafil citrate), but because it's considered an "off label", the drug is legal but not yet approved by the FDA. So there will be some waiting on this. There are other types of creams. One any doctor can prescribe is a compound form of testosterone/progesterone. (For women). You apply it to the inner parts of the labia and the clitoris which can create great sensitivity and blood flow for the time you need your orgasm to kick in. But only certain pharmacies have the ingredients to actually do the mixing of the compound on site. Call ahead if you get the prescription in hand. There is another one called "Dream Cream". The primary active ingredient is an amino acid (L-arginine), one of the building blocks of protein you eat in food every day. It's unknown why, but L-arginine increases blood flow to the genitals. So it works on the body the way sildenafil citrate does, but is not considered a drug. If you are interested in finding out more about this particular cream go to  www.femalesexualtherapy.com .

Also there are gadgets that are being invented (besides the standard everyday electric dildo), that help promote blood flow to a woman's genitals. One is a special "vacuum" pump the FDA recently approved called EROS-CTD.

All of these new inventions and interest have created a big stir in the medical community in which they now may have some answers to the long and secret confessions of millions of women.  It will most definitely give couples new hope and positive renewal to rediscover each other all over again! It can make you, as an empowered woman, feel excited about having sex again!

Wake up that Desire:

Our sex drive is tied not just to hormone levels, but to our emotions, attitudes, and general health. Depression and the medications to treat depression can cause a loss of sexual desire. So can diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure--and the medications to treat these conditions, too! Everything on this list must be addressed if you want to keep your sexual desire healthy and alive.

Start by reducing your stress with exercise and/or meditation. That alone will increase your sex drive and wake up your desire to be more sexual, AND sensual. The better you "feel" about yourself, the better you will want to be "felt".  (Mel quote!) If you've never been able to "create" the attitude and behavior of "sensuality" that guarantees sexual pleasure and satisfaction, don't waste a minute. Remember our logo that "Sensuality is a State of Mind". You must do things for yourself to promote sensuality. From the clothes you wear, to the hairdos and make-up you apply. These "outward" utilities help to a point, but it's what you create inside of your soul and spirit that makes you stand up straight, be confident, and carry yourself with an aura of self worth, dignity and sensuality. The more "sensual" you are the more confidence surrounds you. The more people take notice of you. They hire you for jobs. They invite you to parties. They want you around for meetings and lunch. And most of all they want to date you. Sensualness and Desire go hand in hand. The more you feel good about yourself and can hold your head high, the more you are desirable, and can finally feel desire within yourself!

There have been a ton of books out there to help improve "interest" as well as stamina. One suggestion I heard about would be to take about 20 seconds out of your day to improve your relationship. One way of starting is by a 20 second kiss. That's all. Or 2 - Ten Second Kisses. Sounds simple right? Even if you are not in the mood... after that ten seconds, on the second day, I learned that you feel your 'desire' coming back.

When was the last time you really kissed? And for ten seconds straight?  There are several ways of approaching this. (See Kiss). Another way to help yourself feel the desire you need to get the motor started is to imagine yourself at a time when you loved and wanted this particular person in your life more than EVER. Imagine it clearly with every detail. Right at the peak of those emotions, do something different and unique, anything.  Make it something positive. It could be picking a flower, or sipping a glass light wine. It could be listening to your favorite tune or strolling along the beach. It could be as simple as taking in a fresh breath of air while staring at the sky. What ever it is, do this until it becomes a habit.  Every time you think about the thing that made you fall in love with him, or the thing that made you want to leap into his arms, do a positive activity. Even if it's only a few seconds. This will aid in your association with that thing you do to your thought pattern on the things you desire the most.

Circumcision:

"Circumcision could improve sexual staying power."

Circumcision has been one of the most debated and exhausted "hot" topics in the sexual health arena during the last 20 years of the 20th century,  ever since small groups of laymen and professionals pooled together in different forums to renounce the un-necessary "mutilation" of the male penis.

And I don't dispute that they have valid complaints due to "some" botches that go wrong, and many aspects of their "findings" could have some validity. But remember that these "findings" are still based purely on "professional opinions" and "some" personal experiences.  For in all my research, I have not found in these so called balanced forums any data from the "other" side of the story.  I find it interesting that people with a "cause" will still write biased information slanting or leaving out the actual truth and facts. They have not shown any positive sides where men have chosen to become circumcised in their adult life in order to "enhance" their sex life!

Which is where my honest but "unscientific" research came about.  In all I have found, in almost every case, women have "complained" about the majority of men who are uncircumcised in that they cannot control their pre-mature-ejaculation condition, no matter how hard they try.  They read books, they try wearing condoms to desensitize, they seek out medical professionals, and for the most part find no relief.  The women in their lives either give up and find "other" alternatives, (which can definitely work for some), or just accept their lot in life until I found that some of them just have to move on.  Sex is still a very large part of their lives.  And for the "lucky" few who have learned how important orgasms are during intercourse, they think that there just might be something better out there.

I am no way promoting divorce and the many break ups that are happening in our society going from bed to bed "looking for Mr. Good Bar".  Not at all.  I am simply trying to educate you on  your options.

I have a close friend who I've known for the last 20some years.  He "thought" he was doing all the right things with his new bride until he found that she was not experiencing the fulfillment that he "thought" she was getting.  His lovemaking after foreplay became no more than a few minutes of insertion, then it was over.  She wanted more.  She wanted the long and sensual, or long and lusty intervals of banging in various positions that are so fulfilling to many women. It became a serious problem for them, eventually harboring resentment between both of them.  It had become too much pressure in the bed until they were on the verge of divorcing.  With children on the way that was the last thing I wanted to see.  I spoke to him about looking into the possibility of circumcision.  Sharing that my father had the same problem.  The only relief for my mother was his hand.  I advised him to find out all the data he could.  It became that important to him to save his marriage and had made the decision to do it after being fully versed on all the data that he needed to know in preparation for this very important event. There was some fear on his part, but 25 years later they are still together, loving and living.

He doesn't regret a thing.  This was the one option for him.  It may not be for everyone, but for some.  If women can subject themselves to all sorts of invasive surgeries, mainly for the sake of their relationships, and their health, it certainly couldn't hurt for a man to look into it.  Know the pros and cons from both sides.

Following circumcision, changes occur to the highly sensitive mucous membrane of the glans of the penis that one researcher describes as the formation of a cornified layer. He explains this is "an additional outer covering of compressed, dead cells," with a depth of "about "half" the thickness of Saran Wrap".*

Circumcision does cause the penis to be slightly less sensitive. And in most cases aids in marital bliss as far as my research has shown.

The argument that "most" men have problems in premature ejaculation "anyway" is not backed by any research I have come across in comparison to circumcision vs. none.  A lot of men who are educated at a young age, (properly), and have learned great control, through masturbatory restraining practices, have realized how important it is to "control" their orgasm in the lovemaking process and the sharing of their bliss.

I'm here to report that that uncircumcised men who have the same desire to practice that "restraint" that can become mastered by "circumcised" men, still have a very hard time due to the extra sensitive mucous membrane under the sheath.   I'm sure there are "some" men, uncircumcised, who have mastered this unique control... and I applaud them.  There are also still those out there that feel it is still not that important. And decide that it's the woman's problem, "not theirs". That should be "another topic"!  But for the millions of men who are in pain for not being able to please their woman with their "own" appendage, it is pure torture, to their psyche and their ego.

I'm sure this will continue to be debated until the next millennium!  In the mean time, I want every woman who reads this and all articles to be empowered with knowledge.  I want every woman to realize they have "choices" they can begin to make even at a very young age.  My greatest hope is that this will carry over to next generations so we can break the mold of the "dependant woman" under the control of anyone.  It's up to each one of us to not only talk about our choices to the children in our lives, even as an extended family member, but to not be afraid to break them away from any myths or old patterns. This would include educating the young "males" as well, on their choices, and their habits carried down from their fathers.

It's the only way couples will blend together in peace and harmony in this new and growing world of women's liberation, for equality and fairness.  This cannot be stopped.  So there must be adjustments made in our children right away. In their way of thinking, and in their ways of dealing with women in any situation.

**A WORD ON FEMALE Circumcision...(Technically CASTRATION)

At the prompting of a dear friend, I have been encouraged to say something about this horrible crime against women. For there is certainly NO comparison to the article I have just written about on MALE Circumcision! None at all.

This bloody MUTILATION of the genitals of young girls has been somewhat of a newer topic as far as "Western" Civilization is concerned. Though I believe it has been a sick practice for hundreds if not thousands of years. When I "first" heard about it a few years ago, I was very confused as well as appalled at what I was hearing! It took me a couple more years of research to actually find out "where" the "surgery" (and I use the word loosely), was taking place on the female. The ugly truth hit me like a led weight. And then I found out about the "reasons WHY" it was being performed.

For the ONLY reason that this mutilation is, and was created for girls/and women, was for the PURE and EVIL use of  "taking away" ANY female pleasure a woman could achieve. Therefore leaving her DEAD in her loins and uninterested in any sex... especially to "ENSURE" there is no infidelity"  ....Castration at it's finest!

For a MAN/BOY, it started purely as a "sign" between God and His people in the days of Abraham and Moses...And leaving what was left as STILL a usable and erotic phallic tool, to pleasure "all mankind".

The Mutilation of Females was designed by MEN to "control" and suppress women for thousands of years. Funny how the women of history never had the opportunity to "control" the MEN with all their infidelity! It was always "accepted" that they could carry on, anyway they wanted to! Women had to just take it. And shut up about it.

If  I can reach ANYONE about this horrible crime and sick practice, and cause an out-cry to those countries, who, in their "uninformed" thinking, and make the slightest difference, then this entire site and months of writing will have been worth every second!

Please join me in finding a way to educate, and reach the millions of women who need our help.

The BIG  O:                                                     Porn:  Until we can keep in perspective the difference from reality and what is for mainly "entertainment", we as women are doing ourselves a great injustice. For just about 95% of the porn movies that are popular today, are mainly geared for men, and never show women having orgasms. There are the few "professional" exceptions. The ones who love their jobs for life and are proud of their work. I'm not here to judge them one way or the other. I've seen them too. Some I like, some I think are ridiculous. Most give all women a bad image. They show that women are there for only one purpose, and that is to get a guy "off", while looking like a plastic Barbie doll at the same time! Sometimes she will share the experience with another woman or even another man. It's all "quick" sessions, with no sensual ness, no love, no romance.  Just pure raw sex.  YES. The men LOVE it too! Which is why I started this site for YOU. The women of the world.  Most men will take one look at this and keep going.  Not enough "graphics" for them.  "Too much work".  Just ties into most of what I have been saying from page to page.

There are those women out there who are as equal in the bedroom as much as any other part of their life. They know what it takes to make love and take love to new heights. They attempt to add spice and new experiences as much as they can. A few women have reported that not only was foreplay extremely important, but having a vaginal orgasm during intercourse was something they had discovered down the  road of their sexual experiences, and now would expect "nothing LESS"!

They have proudly taken a position on taking "responsibility" for their "own" orgasm!  They know what exactly their body needs to be pleased because they have learned to please it themselves. (See: Solotime), And, they were strong enough to relay that information from the beginning and expect nothing less than what their spouses have been taught to give to them. It's a beautiful union of blending fantasy, touch, talk and equality in sex. It empowers them for each new lovemaking session to be as good as the last.  If there ever is a time when something fails due to sickness, stress or age, they have no fear for the future because they have built a firm foundation of lovemaking, and have the trust in each other, that they will be patient and try again another time.

A woman's Orgasm has been one of the most mysterious phenomena since the beginning of time. For centuries women weren't even allowed to have one, since only the "bad girls" would do that kind of business. After all, sex between married people was strictly for creating children. Or so their mothers taught them. Queen Victoria instructed her daughter that she was to "think of England" while letting her new husband dabble with her in making a child.

There have been thousands of studies since Queen Victoria. And they all have their different labels for orgasm. I physically have experienced two. Clitoral, and Vaginal. And for the rest of my life, the latter will be preferable.  There is a vast difference in the two.  In a way, we are luckier than men in that we can experience all kinds of different orgasms! It's a great world for those who have learned all the secrets of their bodies and have mastered the art of teaching their men the same secrets! I will tell you, that once you have experienced the "deep, core-shaking, earth rattling, thousand-wave vaginal orgasm", you will never settle for anything else if you can help it.  There are so many though out there who have never had this experience! At the most, when they can, they have a mild one on the clitoris with some sort of stimulation, whether it be fingers, or a device. I say at least they are getting THAT!

But I am here to encourage you to find your deep orgasm. It is well worth the "work".  It has been known to "heal the soul" of depression, and pain. It can even relieve PMS! It has been known to even cure the proverbial "headache"! (Though I've heard some say it can give them a headache.) It can change your entire "outlook" on life just by an incredible body rattling orgasm!

The more your lover knows how to please you, and the more he experiences "causing" you to be pleased, the more your lovemaking will be enhanced. The more of a bond will be made to keep you together when the bad times come. And believe me they will!.

I want to empower you today to realize that you have a "right to Orgasm"! It is part of your rights as a women. By denying that god-given (and sanctioned) right, you are setting back the work of millions of women through millions of ages. We fought long and hard not only for "equality" but to have an Orgasm free from guilt or shame! You should DEMAND your orgasm! In the long run, (after your spouse is over the initial shock, and finds he may have to "work" a little harder!), you will find much more peace in your heart, and peace between you and your spouse.

You just might open up a new line of erotic and sensual experiences with him! You might turn him on even more by telling him what you want that's new and exciting.

The term "Big Bang Theory" was written several years ago when women were just beginning to take notice of "their right to Orgasm" and finally speaking out on the subject. The theory was that if you were to take two of your fingers and start slowly "smacking" them gently in the same spot against your forearm, not too hard mind you, but just at a steady pace, you would eventually feel numbness or even pain. The theory was that for women trying to lay there an experience some sort of build up as their men are "banging" them... usually never works out! Their men ignore the clitoris all together, even though they "thought" they were doing Great Foreplay in the beginning. And then rhythmically begin to fill the vagina deep and hard (since obviously they've managed to cause the clitoris to swell, and now (should) be ready for their penis), with their highly sensitive and hardened appendage. And since they feel GREAT banging you, it must feel good to YOU! Right? It's an oversight (most) men have. They think they are being very studly and strong by banging a woman over and over, since it's great for them, but then after a while, they either ask you if you're ready to come with them, (when you're not), or just do it anyway without asking.

As I have reported before in other sections, the surveys I've conducted have shown that the majority of women who answered, do not orgasm with their spouses or lovers. And they are afraid to let these men know over the simple fact they "they didn't want to hurt their feelings". So they just fake it. (See Talk). You need to "teach your man" exactly what you need! Have him work on you even if it takes a couple hours.

When you take control of the situation, he will learn that, yes, it will be more "work" for him (if that's what he chooses to call it, though some men crave that "job"!), but in the long run you both will be closer and more intimate than ever before!
